Recruitment
1.1 On Board Security Team Operations:
Conducting armed and unarmed security team embarkation/disembarkation operations at the port of Galle
1.2 Approval by Ministry of Defense:
Approval to provide security teams with qualifications for PMSCs operating in High-Risk Areas (HRA) with proper vetting procedures
Approval to provide weapons and equipment to PMSCs for maritime security duties.
1.3 Sea Marshal Qualifications:
Rigorous four-stage process for selecting best-qualified personnel for maritime security duties
1.3.1 Professional Qualifications:
Navy Discharge Book, Passport (valid for at least 18 months), SSO/SSA Certificate, or STCW 95 proficiency in designated security duties.
1.3.2 Clearance and Certificates:
Criminal Record clearance (within six months), Valid Seaman’s book (CDC), STCW 95 Certificates (Personal Survival Techniques, Fire Prevention, Firefighting, Elementary First Aid, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities)
1.3.3 Medical Fitness:
Medical Certificates confirming physical and mental health, no history of drug or alcohol abuse, and fitness to carry firearms.
1.3.4 Additional Requirements:
Yellow Fever Records, Firearms Competency Course (renewed annually), Certificates documenting additional medical training, English Course (good verbal and written skills).
